Germs are everywhere! They are in your mouth, on your hands, and they completely inundate door knobs and stair railings. Everyone knows this, thus the anti-bacterial soaps and hand sanitizers are now a part of everyday lifestyles. After shaking someones hand, going to a public restroom, or even before sitting down to a dinner out, sanitizing wipes are often used. Today this is just normal, however these germs are what humans use to build their immune systems. The real yucky germs are not the everyday germs that we encounter, rather they lurk in some surprising places that people do not even think of, yet they are perfectly fine after being exposed without pulling out the hand sanitizers.
How many people sanitize their hands after brushing their teeth? A toothbrush is one of the most disgusting things in the bathroom. Not only is it used to scrape bacteria out of the mouth, but they typically sit in the same room that is used to urinate and defecate in. Once the toilet is flushed, tiny droplets encounter the toothbrush! Yet you are still alive?
How about wash rags and sponges. According to an NSF study, 77 percent of kitchen sponges tested positive for coliform bacteria, which can cause food poisoning! People often think they are cleaning surface areas with these sponges when in fact they are simply spreading the bacteria. Yet here you are, still alive with no indications of food poisoning?
Money is one of the filthiest things anyone can ever encounter. It is responsible for passing around the flu and other transmittable illnesses. Just think about it, how many one dollars bills have you shoved down the panties of a stripper lately? None? Well someone you know has! Even if you do not know a stripper lover, she indeed pulled that dollar bill out of her crotch only to recirculate it back into the economy.
Library books have been found to harbor e. coli! How many people do you know lie to lick their fingers in order to get a grip on a page in order to turn it? Most everyone does this. It has been found that e.coli and other gram negative organisms can thrive in library conditions.
Other places germs lurk are in keyboards, on ATM buttons, grocery cart handles, playgrounds, office phones, and remote controls, yet many people do not pull out the sanitizers after being in contact with these germy things and they are still alive! That is because after a lifetime of being exposed, your body has built up immunities.
